Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable and manmade. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City, and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by “the Infected”-victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path. For three years, Neville has spent his days scavenging for food and supplies and faithfully sending out radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. All the while, the Infected lurk in the shadows, watching Neville’s every move, waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind’s last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But his blood is also what The Infected hunt, and Neville knows he is outnumbered and quickly running out of time.

I Am Legend is a great thriller movie!

You can’t expect a film like this to be “great”. It has decent graphics and good performance of Will Smith. The concept of story is also quite interesting but it can be seen as similar to 28 Months later. (Some comments give much better ratings to 28 Months later than I Am Legend).

However, it has some faults like too simple story and not enough ending (feels something’s missing).

Good concept, but simple story

Story is a little bit simple. There’s no complicated relationships involved in this movie as Robert Neville (Will Smith) is only survivor. The concept is quite well written as Robert is only human left it the city, but he’s not alone. A lot of people had been expecting a lot from its plot and trailer. Yes the story itself is quite good, but except the simple story, the ending seems something needs more. Maybe it’s because of the short running time, the ending was a bit disappointing.

It shows wonderful graphics.

The destroyed city looks real, the tension in the dark area will make you should run away from there. However, you will feel the infected creatures created by CGI is a bit rough and sometimes they looks cartoonish.

The performances are phenomenal.

There are not many actors and actresses performing. During the most of movie, Will Smith and Sam (his dog), sometimes several mannequins, act. Will Smith does a great job as alwasy, and the dog also act quite well Alice Braga acts just fine during her short performace time.

This film is simply stunning, but question marked over it’s simple story!

You will enjoy a lot with the action and good concept. If you are a fan of thrilling movie, this is exactly what you should watch. However, don’t expect too much about the story and especially the ending.
