College Road Trip (2008)

Melanie is eagerly looking forward to taking her first big step towards independence when she plans a ‘girls only’ road trip to check out prospective universities. However, when her imposing police-chief dad insists on escorting her instead, she soon finds her dream trip turning into a nightmare full of misfortune and turmoil. Dad wants to assure total security and safety for his precious daughter, while Melanie has a 17-year-old’s need to become a grown woman and have her own sense of independence. Now, even as dad and daughter bicker, banter and careen from one disaster to the next on their journey, they are about to discover that, sometimes, going that extra mile to be together can forge a family bond so strong it can withstand anything–even wild curves ahead.

They just can’t get there fast enough.

College Road Trip is a good family-friendly movie

Martin Lawrence’s another comic movie, “College Road Trip”, attracts many families, especially fathers with daughters. This movie is empathizing fathers’ instinct to protect their children and the idea of them growing up fast. The theater was filled with kids and parents, who both looked enjoing the movie on their own levels.

However, if you are looking for a comedy like what Jim Carry acts, you won’t feel this movie is funny as this movie reaches to little kids with its zany comedy style, the sight gags and kiddy jokes about pigs and dancing.

The comments give very low ratings, but…

It’s true this movie doesn’t represent that much of a Box-Office threat. And personally I was not amused successfully during the movie. Neverthless, it doens’t mean the movie is all bad. As Disey made this for kids and families, you will see a lot of kids and parents are enjoying this movie together. Its quirky way is funny and especially Doug Greenhut (Donny Osmond) and his daughter Wendy Greenhut (Molly Ephraim) was so funny though!

It seemes Kids who watched Raven on her Disney channel show loved watching her act in this movie.

Are you looking for a family movie?

If you are looking for a family movie to have a good time with your kids, especially with your daughter, this movie is okay for you!
